What is SDGC?

SDGC or Savannah Disc Golf Club is simply a non profit organization comprised of Disc players and enthusiasts.

What is SDGC's Mission?

To promote the growth of disc sports in the greater Savannah area. To encourage honesty, integrity, good spirit and fellowship among all who play disc sports. To maintain the beauty and playability of all disc sport venues in the area, discouraging all acts of violence toward others and our facilities.

Why should I join SDGC?

It is our vision to bring together a growing network of players who want to improve the ability to enjoy playing disc sports. Relationships will be based on freedom of choice, trust, respect and fun! Together as a group, we empower each other to achieve our goals and our mission. We value ideas, and welcome questions and potential solutions.

Do I have to be a member to play?

No, you do not have to be a member to play at any SDGC activity or event, but you will find that becoming a member of our group brings many opportunities.

How do I join SDGC?

Read the By-laws and fill out the application. Turn in the form to any SDGC officer or mail to:

SDGC Sponsorship

SDGC offers several levels of sponsorship, available to the general public and to members.

  • Tournament Sponsors:
    We are always looking for companies to take advantage of our tournament side contests (closest to pin, longest drive, longest putt, etc.). These contests are opportunities for you to award prizes with your company's name and message to reach players locally and from many surrounding states.
  • Hole Sponsors:
    We only have 18 holes. Space is limited.
    • $500 buys concrete tee and sign for hole of choice
    • Company Name/Logo permanently displayed on hole sign
    • Company Name and logo permanently displayed on our website
  • Bench Sponsors:
    • $500 buys bench for hole of choice
    • Company Name/Logo permanently engraved in brass on bench
    • Company Name and logo permanently displayed on our website

SDGC By-Laws

Article 1 - Membership:

  • Anyone can become a member of SDGC
    Annual Fees:
  • Adults $20 ($10 Renewal)
  • Students $15 (w/ valid id)
  • Juniors $10 (under 16)
    Golf Tags (optional):
  • $10 ($5 for members)
    Benefits:
  • $5.00 off all leagues and local events
  • Weekly events organized by SDGC open to anyone
  • Seasonal leagues
  • SDGC Web page with schedules, activities, and updates
  • Voting privileges
  • Eligible to run for office
  • Club Disc

Article 2 - Board of Directors:

Elections:

  • Elections to the Board of Directors shall be held at the annual player's meeting.
  • The President, Treasurer are elected on even numbered years; Secretary, V. President, and Tournament Director (must be a certified PDGA official) on odd numbered years.
  • The Member-At-Large position will be elected annually.
Duties:
  • Board members will serve a two-year term except for the Member-At- Large, who will serve a one-year term.
  • The board of directors will meet monthly at their mutual convenience to be determined no later than the previous meeting.
  • The board of directors will make all decisions by vote and inform the general membership of such decisions.
  • Any decision deemed necessary by 4/6 of the board will be voted on by the general membership.
Current Officers:
  • President runs the meetings and directs the organization to adhere to the SDGC mission. The president is responsible for keeping record of all SDGC policies and procedures and for making them accessible.
  • Vice President fills in for absent President, promotes and develops membership growth, sponsorship opportunities, and maintains a marketing plan.
  • Treasurer keeps all financial records of deposits and disbursements and keeps all inventories of assets.
  • Secretary keeps records of meetings, updates the membership through the web site, and keeps the SDGC calendar.
  • Tournament Director (Must be a current certified PDGA official) promotes, directs course maintenance and develops leagues and tournaments.
  • Member-at-Large participates in meeting discussions and has a board vote. This is a one year position. This position should be considered a link to the Disc Community (i.e. an Ultimate representative).
